Chris Black was a staff writer on Star Trek: Enterprise during its first three seasons. He also served as the show's supervising producer during its first season and became a co-executive producer for its second and third seasons. The character Admiral Black was apparently named after him by Mike Sussman in recognition for the writer's naming of Suus Mahna, an ancient Vulcan martial arts.
He was previously a writer and producer on the science fiction television series Sliders. He currently writes episodes for the hit drama Desperate Houswives, on which Teri Hatcher stars.
Black also co-wrote the story for the 1997 film Masterminds. Star Trek: The Next Generation actor Patrick Stewart was the star of this film.
